WEBCHAT First Minister Mark Drakeford demands ‘home rule’ for Wales
Every time this comes up I never get the answer to the question of if we can support ourselves with no problem at all then how much does Wales make as a economy (without Westminster subs) compared to how much does Wales cost as a country to run each year? I mean as people we live within our means right. The more we earn the more we can have. It would be incredibly foolhardy to try and attain a lifestyle that your wallet cannot support. So until Wales can afford to go it alone and has the means to support itself then any thoughts of actually doing it is pure fantasy.

No No No, we will never survive without UK money and help. I have worked in the poverty stricken areas and they need more help, not the money taken away from them and this will happen if we have ‘home rule’. Wrong move Mr D!

Here we go, an election in May and promises, promises, promises. Independent Wales run by Mark Drakeford, who then will not be able to blame anyone when it goes pear shaped. How are we going to fund it?
Phil Williams
Then he can make council tax even greater. We already pay more in Port Talbot than 90% of London boroughs. Cheers Welsh Labour.
Tim Morgan
Get rid of him and his cronies in the assembly. It’s just a gravy train for their own benefit. Simon Hughes
I’m not against home rule in principle but it would be a disaster under the current Welsh Government. A far more competent administration would need to be in place before this happened.

God the majority of you really are uneducated and clueless lol! Helps my day when there is this much comedy to keep me occupied. WG have been amazing throughout this.

Singapore is fully independent and a very rich country... it’s smaller that Anglesey and has no natural resources.
John Horrigan
Absolutely, we are constantly being undermined, underfunded and under-represented by Westminster.
Gareth Edwards
Welsh independence doesn’t have to come with Labour. Vote for change in May!
