We must never forget Wales’ proud heritage

-

WE SEE the next Senedd elections, very much about the same old career politians and wrangles between new parties wishing to see independence on the one hand and others an abolition of the Senedd or change in the status quo.

However, I see one issue that no-one is talking about, that being our heritage. You can lecture people on independence, but with no identity you have no country. It may be ideal to talk about investing into the NHS, but with little to look forward to or places to visit – we are losing our primeval woodlands, native-built castles of the kings of Cymru, burial grounds throughout the ages, chapels, and even any evidence of our coal and iron mining industries; the list goes on.

Our heritage is so so important, it is something that we all remember, those cherished memories with our grandparents visiting those old mansions and castles, many of which are now gone across Cymru.

There is much talk about building new houses – why? When there are so many old buildings across our land that can be converted and retained as part of that heritage.

Slowly but surely our identity has been eradicated. We were once a proud country of all creeds and people, now all we see is division. Bringing those creeds and people together as one, under the idea of our cosmopolitan heritage in Cymru/Wales, that was once proud, is something we need to bring to the forefront again.

Love our heritage, love who we are, TOGETHER as one.
