Take a tour around this home where the stars always shine

- JOANNE RIDOUT Property editor joanne.ridout@walesonline.co.uk

APPROACH this detached home situated at the far end of a residential close in the village of Wenvoe and, even from the outside, you know you have a property where bespoke is the norm.

The contemporary grey colour and the classic cladding of the front facade are special visual ingredients added to the distinctive double-storey apex design of this home - all of which are a taste of what’s to come inside.

Built in 2017, the home is an attractive mix of elegant and classy contemporary design. And its understated tasteful furniture ensures all the statement features inside are the stand-out stars of the interior design.

The second you step through the integrated porch and into impressive you will soon see that this stylish, and dare I say posh, aesthetics sets the tone and standard for the rest of the house.

The space makes a grand statement, being double-height and rising to a vaulted-ceiling high above the open space below.

Plain white walls and pale tiled flooring are the perfect and contemporary backdrop to showcase the stunning, floating staircase.

The bespoke and hand-made stairs oozes high-end craftsmanship as they are made from maple that encases glass balustrades.

Of course, there’s a statement light fitting cascading down the well of the staircase (and of course it’s gorgeous).

From this fabulous hall there is a good glimpse through a glass doorway of the main event on the ground floor the large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge, which happens to also lead into the garden too.

The view from the hall also tempts you to take a journey through the house to the rear, as your curiosity has been ignited by the small section of this amazing space peeping through the glass.

Stepping through that door and into the heart of the home, will probably get yours beating a bit faster too - it’s huge and hugely impressive.

At the front, within the statement apex section of the front facade, nestles the kitchen and it’s surely a 10 out of 10 from most people.

Again, the bespoke element of this home shines through within this space, with the hand-crafted kitchen demanding appreciation and it deserves to get it.

Looking like a luxury kitchen featured in a glossy interiors magazine on the outside, the inside of this kitchen can hold its own too. It boasts integrated appliances, Quooker hot and cold tap, Wolf oven range cooker and double oven, a Miele hot plate and even a large wine cooler.

The kitchen can even boast two integrated extractor fans, one over the cooker and one over the hob on the island, which is a thing of beauty and comes with an integrated sink sunk into its quartz worktop and built-in breakfast bar.

It is visually very pleasing that the island size, shape and material composition is matched and mimicked by the floating, suspended ceiling above - creating perfect symmetry as well as a functional addition to hide lights and that extractor fan.

If you can drag yourself away from the kitchen the space seamlessly flows into the dining area which continues the warm wood and tactile fabrics scheme, crowned by another statement light.

The table is so sizeable two contemporary light fittings are required to illuminate the sociable dinner party or family gathering below, which also continues the pleasing element of symmetry found in the kitchen.

The dining area looks out onto the garden patio via a vast bank of bi-fold doors - there’s no doubt when they are opened the indoor outdoor connection is achieved to the maximum.

Off to the end of the open-plan space is a more snug lounge area.

Once you wander to the bi-fold doors to look out, look up too - this house likes to throw in a few surprises.

This section of the open-plan space continues the grandeur of a vaultedceiling introduced in the hall with part of its own ceiling absent and an impressive double-height space to be found in its place.

After a meal or a relax on a sofa in this space, you might start to feel the longing for popcorn becoming unbearable, as you wonder what time the movie is going to start.

Step into the home cinema room and the star-lit sky is certainly tempting you into thinking the first film to enjoy is a sci-fi classic like Star Wars.

And as the movie room is soundproofed throughout - even the noise of a lightsaber fight in a galaxy far, far away is not going to disturb anyone else in the house.

To create an amazing cinematic home experience, the estate agent states the current owner has had all the latest technology installed, including a surround sound speaker system.

The entire room has a range of different lights including a star light feature ceiling, with seating for eight people and enough room for more in the bean bag area.

If you can prize yourself out of a bean bag, this house has another surprise to impress you.

It has a home office, so handy now home working is becoming more popular, but that’s not the surprise.

It has a very useful and sizeable utility room, but although an extra bonus to have in a family home, that’s not the bonus space that you weren’t expecting.

This house also has a beauty room that has its own massage and treatment table plus inbuilt speakers and television to create a welcome distraction for anyone who has opted in to have a wax treatment.

The estate agent states the beauty room could be a fifth bedroom and as the office next door has plumbing already in place, this could easily be converted into an ensuite.

As there is a bedroom and ensuite already in place on this ground floor, the office and beauty room could even become a kitchen and living area to create an annexe area for the older and younger generation of a family as a dedicated space to call their own.

But it could be that the new owner prefers to keep these spaces as they are and be very content with the three generous bedrooms on the first floor.

The master bedroom is located over the kitchen and in the space provided by that distinctive apex feature at the front of the home.

This principal suite runs from front to back, with the ensuite at the rear next to a dressing area that boasts an impressive bank of wardrobes.

There’s an extra door at the end of the dressing area and it opens into a surprise extra storage room for even more shoes, bags and coats.

The second bedroom on this first floor has an ensuite and there is a fourpiece bathroom off the main landing, and both ooze the same understated decor of neutral tones and natural materials to provide a classy, contemporary look.

The garden is calling on a sunny day but this outdoor space can cope with most weathers thanks to clever design.

The house hugging section of the rear patio is under the roof overhang so can offer outdoor lounging and alfresco dining even in the rain, or some much-needed shade on a sunny day so you don’t burn your nose as you snooze off in a deck chair.

Tucked away in an elevated corner is a hidden hot tub nestled into a threewalled summer house, perfect for soaking in bubbles whatever the weather, while you watch the children play on the swings below.

This versatile family home is located between Barry and Cardiff, about equal distance between coast and city so arguably well-placed for shopping and surfing and working and wandering along the coastal path.

■ The distinctive house that boasts bespoke design throughout as well as multiple sociable and useful spaces, including that impressive cinema room, is on the market for a guide price of £995,000 with estate agent Fortis, call their Cardiff branch on 029 2056 1111 to find out more.
