THE SYNDICATE ALL THAT GLITTERS: BRITAIN’S NEXT JEWELLERY STAR
BBC1, 9pm BBC2, 8pm
It’s been one crisis after another for the syndicate, who traipsed off on a fool’s errand to Monaco to try to get their lottery winnings back.
As this comedy drama barrels towards a conclusion, the gang of kennel workers arrives back in England, devastated that their trip to Monaco has all been for nothing.
However, they find an unexpected welcome party waiting for them at the airport. They are shocked to discover that proof of their win has unexpectedly come to light.
Meanwhile, Frank (Neil Morrissey) begs Cheryl (Gaynor Faye) to help him in a last-ditch attempt to save himself and Duke, and Keeley (Katherine Rose Morley) realises that Jake may still have feelings for Georgina (Katie McGlynn, above).
“Unlike cakes, jewellery lasts forever…” quips Katherine Ryan as the five remaining jewellers – Lee, Sonny, Dan, Hugo and Tamara (below) – face gold week.
For the Bestseller challenge the jewellers have to make a pair of identical hoop earrings that need to “sit beautifully and move freely”, according to jewellery designer and judge Solange Azagury-Partridge.
Then for the Bespoke challenge, they meet Zeynap, who wants a gold locket to give to the woman who saved her mum’s life with a bone marrow transplant to treat her cancer. Zeynap says:
“I want a token, something that signifies new life, to tell her how much we appreciate her. My mum wouldn’t be here without her.”
