Fiery Dragons lead Cossacks a merry dance
CARDIFF Dragons recorded their first win of the season in the Carling Premier Division, with a 4-1 victory over fourth-placed Llanrumney Cossack, who lost their unbeaten run in the process.
Scott Richards (2), Camile WaltersWright and Dalue Ncube were on target for Dragons, with Jack Sanders scoring in reply.
Leaders Trelai extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points after a 3-2 win over Michaelstone Rangers. James Cotterall (2) and Michael Sheard netted the decisive gaols for Trelai. Nathan Quick replied with a brace for Michaelstone.
There was no separating secondplaced Cardiff County and thirdplaced Radyr Rangers as they shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Alex Smith (2) and Alex Burkhard were on target for County.
Elsewhere in the division, Elite Elen swept to a 6-2 win over Plough Albion.
In the Honestman4hire Second Division, there was disappointment for Roath Lions who went down by 4-1 to East Cardiff Dragons after a run of much-improved form. Simon James and Joseph Folland netted two goals apiece for East Dragons, while
Abdullah Qureshi replied with an individual effort for the Lions.
Fred are the new leaders of the division after they swept to a 7-2 win over Inter Caerau. Ellis Hodgekinson led the way for Fred with four goals, which were added to by Jacob Scott, Kai Laferia and Rhys Huntley. Christopher Quick replied with a brace for Inter Caerau.
Meanwhile, previous leaders St Josephs surprisingly went down by 5-3 to Cardiff Athletic. Nathan Came was the hero for Athletic as he hit four of their goals. Liam Cregan was also on target. St Josephs replied trough Luke Harvey, Adam Hurst and Jamie Millford.
In the Everson Sports First Division, Saints maintained second place with an emphatic 10-0 win over AC-F23. Leading marksman Jack Huntley was on target again as he hit five of the Saints’ goals. Daniel Peets weighted in with a hat-trick, while Perry Squire and Marco Arrighi added to the score.
Third-placed Canton Rangers beat Athletico Dads 3-0 to make it four wins out of five so far this season. The Rangers’ goals came from Matthew Feehan, Nathan Moore and Dayle Hughes.
