WEBCHAT Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s confirms fireworks ban for 2021

-

Well done Sainsbury’s – happy pets hopefully this year and from now on.

Clare Bird

We have always had fireworks and always should. Just because some people and some dogs don’t like them doesn’t mean they should be banned.

Vince Sullivan

Good, well done Sainsbury’s ... organised displays only ... like everything the few have spoiled the childhoods of many by being so stupid with them.

Carole Carew

Yes! Unfortunately a lot of the time they get into the wrong hands and aren’t always used appropriately. Also they end up being set off for months on end making it difficult for people with pets to prepare.

Laura Platt

Yes ban them. As well as terrifying pets they are also responsible for littering and air pollution.

Rebecca Barker

Been saying it for years, I hate fireworks and the effect they have on my animals.

Anna Jennings-slater

Not just supermarkets, they should be banned for sale everywhere. Organised displays only.

Carly Williams

No, sell the noiseless ones only. Or only organised displays. Cherie Powell

Absolutely not. Been around for years. Grow up.

Mark Cookie Roberts

Fantastic... already started in our area. My dog is poorly anyway and the noise is upsetting her terribly. Why can’t there just be arranged official events held on November 5 for everyone to enjoy. Jacqui Anne Church

Asda and Aldi sell silent fireworks. Raema Gunton

Sadly unless the sale of fireworks is banned altogether, it won’t make much difference. Catherine Smith

It’s not just dogs who are afraid of the noise – people with autism and other disabilities.

Beverley Williams
