Timeline of a brutal murder
■■ 12.45am, June 10, 2021 – Elliott Fiteni and Lewis Aquilina travel to Risca, Caerphilly, and steal a blue Ford Fiesta ST.
■■ 7.30pm, June 10, 2021 – Ryan O’Connor arrives at his brother and sister-in-law’s house in Aberthaw Road, Alway, Newport.
■■ 8.15pm, June 10, 2021 – Joseph Jeremy, Lewis Aquilina, Kyle Raisis, Ethan Strickland and Elliott Fiteni travel from Cardiff to Newport in the Ford Fiesta.
■■ 8.40pm, June 10, 2021 – witness Lewis Pritchard sees the Ford Fiesta driving along Aberthaw Road, Alway, Newport. The car slows down and he sees driver pull a balaclava over his face.
■■ 8.45pm, June 10, 2021 – Ryan O’Connor leaves Aberthaw Road and walks towards Balfe Road and the Aberthaw Roundabout.
■■ 8.51pm, June 10, 2021 – the Ford Fiesta is seen on CCTV in Balfe Road and Vaughan Williams Drive.
■■ 9pm, June 10, 2021 – Ryan O’Connor is stabbed by Joseph Jeremy and Lewis Aquilina in Balfe Road, Alway, Newport. His Gucci bag is taken and the murderers head back to the car which drives off.
■■ 9.08pm, June 10, 2021 – the Ford Fiesta drives past the scene of the stabbing and Jeremy and Aquilina can be seen laughing and mocking Ryan O’Connor as he lays dying.
■■ 9.10pm, June 10, 2021 – the emergency services receive a 999 call to report a man has been stabbed.
■■ 9.23am, June 10, 2021 – paramedics arrive at Balfe Road and see Ryan O’Connor lying on the pavement, with more than 100 people at the scene. They continue CPR and treat him.
■■ 9.39pm, June 10, 2021 – Ryan O’Connor is pronounced dead.
■■ 9.40pm, June 10, 2021 – the Ford Fiesta stops at the Esso garage in Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff, and Jeremy gets out and puts £10 worth of petrol in the car.
■■ 9.45pm, June 10, 2021 – police spot the Ford Fiesta and a pursuit takes place, mainly on the A48 towards Llanrumney, Cardiff.
■■ 9.47pm, June 10, 2021 – an image of Kyle Raisis and Ethan Strickland holding knives is taken on Jeremy’s phone. Further photographs also show Jeremy, Raisis and Strickland all holding knives.
■■ 9.50pm, June 10, 2021 – the blue Ford Fiesta crashes on the Glyn Collen estate in Pentwyn. Aquilina, Raisis and Jeremy are arrested yards from the car.
■■ 10.01pm, June 10, 2021 – Elliott Fiteni and Strickland are arrested in a block of flats in Glyn Collen.
