THIS summer, step into the future of broadcasti­ng at the BBC’s newest and most advanced studios in Cardiff.

If you’ve ever wondered how sound effects are added to your favourite podcasts or what it’s like to read the news, this is the perfect opportunit­y to see that and more.

Join the studios’ friendly guides for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of BBC Cymru Wales and its state-of-the-art television and radio studios to discover the secrets of making BBC programmes, as well as follow in the footsteps of some of Wales’ famous faces.

ON YOUR JOURNEY, YOU WILL:

• Visit one of the largest BBC newsrooms, packed with cutting-edge technology including augmented reality, virtual reality and robotic cameras

• Take a sneak peek at TV galleries

and other broadcast facilities Each walking tour will last approximat­ely 90 minutes.

As a live and working broadcast centre, no two tours are the same, so every visit will be unique.

Children under 18 must be accompanie­d by an adult. Tours are suitable for children over seven years old.

All adult visitors attending tours must bring a photo ID. Large bags, rucksacks and shopping bags are not allowed on the tour.

Tickets are available for Thursdays to Sundays, at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 3pm.

Tickets are priced at £13 for adults; £10 for students, those under 26 years, or registered unemployed; and £12 for a disabled person or over 65s.

Group tickets are also on offer, costing £38 for a family of four; £12 for 10+ adults; £9 for 10+ students, under 26s or registered unemployed; and £11 for 10+ disabled or over 65s.

BBC Tours also welcomes Tempo Time credits from

community volunteers who have given their time to good causes.
