Warmest Remembrance Sunday
THE hottest Remembrance Sunday ever in the UK was recorded in Wales yesterday as temperatures hit 20.70C. It also made it the warmest November 13 for the UK on record.
The Met Office has confirmed the record temperature was recorded in Porthmadog. Sunshine and mild weather was forecast for most of the country as people marked the day of remembrance.
Welsh weatherman Derek Brockway made the announcement on Twitter yesterday afternoon.
The warmest Armistice Day on record was also recorded this year, as temperatures hit 19.50C in Myerscough in Lancashire on November 11. This was more than a degree warmer than the previous record of 17.80C. Typical temperatures for this time of year are 90C-110C.
