Warmest Remembranc­e Sunday

THE hottest Remembranc­e Sunday ever in the UK was recorded in Wales yesterday as temperatur­es hit 20.70C. It also made it the warmest November 13 for the UK on record.

The Met Office has confirmed the record temperatur­e was recorded in Porthmadog. Sunshine and mild weather was forecast for most of the country as people marked the day of remembranc­e.

Welsh weatherman Derek Brockway made the announceme­nt on Twitter yesterday afternoon.

The warmest Armistice Day on record was also recorded this year, as temperatur­es hit 19.50C in Myerscough in Lancashire on November 11. This was more than a degree warmer than the previous record of 17.80C. Typical temperatur­es for this time of year are 90C-110C.
