Road closed following collision in early hours

THE main road through a South Wales Valleys town was closed yesterday morning after a crash in early hours.

Emergency services were at Blackwood High Street from around 5am.

In a short statement issued on social media. Gwent Police said: “Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the High Street, Blackwood.

“The road is closed and diversions are in place, which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey. Take care.”
