Ammanford reach the summit

AMMANFORD moved to the top of Admiral One West Central with a comfortabl­e 32-15 home win over Bonymaen.

They scored four tries – the last near the end by prop Dylan Phillips – to clinch a bonus point that moved them a point clear at the top. Other tries came from Matthew Lemon, Ells Smith and Owain Thomas.

Dunvant’s 46-0 win at bottom side Brynamman moved them to within three points of the top, while Waunarlwyd­d beat visiting Glynneath 2013.

In One East, Newbridge extended their unbeaten run to six games as they beat Penallta 52-0.

They are now eight points ahead of Brecon.

Newbridge fly-half Simon Veale helped himself to a hat-trick of tries. Robbie Turley was in fine form with the boot.

In One East Central, St Peter’s were beaten for the first time this season as they tumbled to a 32-10 defeat at Mountain Ash.

Treorchy’s 19-17 home win over St Joseph’s keeps them in the title race, while Barry are unbeaten after four outings.
