Why no turbines in English counties?

-

RECENT letters by leading Welsh author Terry Breverton and Non Davies of Llangernyw are very concerning.

Coriolis, an Irish Government owned wind energy company and Bute Energy from Scotland, are both clearly exploiting Wales and its superb natural landscapes, in order to plaster our fair land with gargantuan wind turbines up to 820ft high, because Wales is obviously a soft touch.

It is England, with its massive 58 million population, that is short of

electricitym not Wales with its modest three million.

Onshore wind farms are banned in much of England.

You won’t find them in the Cotswolds, Shropshire, Herefordshire or Hampshire, because they value their landscapes.

If these wind turbines are so fantastic, why are they not being put in energy-short England where the electricity from Wales ends up?

Wales only uses 1678MW on average. Pembroke gas-fired power station alone, in the far west, generates 2200MW.

Are Welsh politicians innumerate?
