Air ambulance lands in suburb

EMERGENCY services rushed to a north Cardiff suburb due to a medical emergency on the weekend, sparking a large emergency services presence.

One woman who was in Llanishen on Saturday morning posted on social media that “there were police everywhere”.

An air ambulance reportedly landed in the grounds of Llanishen High School on Heol Hir.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoma­n told the Echo: “We were called on Saturday, November 19, to a medical emergency in Llanishen.

“We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, where crews were also supported by an air ambulance.

“One person was taken by road to the University Hospital of Wales.”

No further update on the patient’s condition have been made available.
