Lucy reveals all about naked life

A CARDIFF woman has opened up on her lifestyle which fully embraces being in the nude and has spoken of how additional layers of clothing stop her truly expressing herself.

Lucy Muse is a Welsh artist and content creator who lives a life where clothing is optional – even in winter.

Speaking in The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, she revealed she became a more “naked person” while training to be an artist at university in Cardiff.

She added: “I’m an artist – a visual artist – and when you’re an artist, the human form is a big part of art anyway, so it’s something you tend to look at and immerse yourself in.”

Now, Lucy wears as little clothing as possible and aims to spend her days – whenever she can – naked, which, she explained, is “very liberating”. She also uses Instagram and TikTok to encourage people to feel more comfortable in their own skin, but only if they want to.

“I think that choice is really important because there’s a lot of pressure to love the body you’re in and sometimes you don’t. Being body positive, I think, comes about through learning to express yourself,” she said.

“I don’t feel vulnerable when I’m naked, because it’s a choice that I’ve made, and it’s how I choose to express myself. It’s actually very liberating. Not everybody share[s] my lifestyle, it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, and I’m respectful of that. I choose to live my life in a certain way, and that’s my choice.”

Lucy’s preferred description for her lifestyle is ‘naked person.’

“There are a lot of terms that relate to other types of naked lifestyle – naturists, nudists, that sort of thing,” she said. “They’re very much their own thing, and they’re very positive things for the people who associate with those terms. My term is ‘naked person’ and that suits me.”

While Lucy, who has made a podcast for Spotify and various musical albums about her lifestyle, loves being naked – and it is legal to be so in public places – there are certain situations in which she refrains from disrobing.

She explained: “It is legal to be naked in public in the UK, but I use common sense. I don’t go to the shops naked, for example. I don’t put myself in situations where I might surround myself with people who aren’t going to be positive about the way that I live my lifestyle.”

In these situations, she wears colourful and vintage items. “I’m actually a big lover of vintage clothing,” she revealed. “I love colourful clothes, and because it’s not always appropriate not to be clothed, I do enjoy my style. It could save you money if you’re just naked all of the time, but realistically it’s not always possible.”

Lucy is an advocate for nudity and has taken part in protests such as the World Naked Bike Ride London. She also shares her lifestyle on social media, where she has 7,000 followers. She said: “[The reaction’s] been really positive, and I’ve found a lot of other people who share my lifestyle.”
