Rugby by committee is a losing strategy

THERE is a vast amount of both well and ill-informed opinion expressed about the Welsh rugby team and I am no expert myself.

However two things come to my mind. Firstly, what “instructions” has Wayne Pivac had from WRU management about the end games for his selections, is it for the six nations or the World Cup? Whichever it is, it will be necessary to bring on young players from a small pool of eligible talent and as many military people have said, you can lose some battles and still win a war! Secondly, can one in all seriousness blame Wayne Pivac and the coaching staff when a team throws away a substantial lead while on the pitch?

Pulling on that red shirt no longer seems to have the positive effect it had in times past, while the “committee” decision that let Shaun Edwards go certainly has had a negative effect!
