Cause of man’s death still unknown – police
POLICE are still looking for answers about what caused the death of a man whose body was found near a Cardiff rugby club.
Initial investigations into the death of Stephen Bulpin, have not confirmed “any obvious cause of death”. Detectives say “extensive” inquiries are continuing and they are keen to speak to anyone who had contact with Mr Bulpin, from Fairwater, Cardiff, during the early hours of last Monday.
The 65-year-old’s body was found on the path alongside Llandaff Rugby Club on Western Avenue around 3am last Monday. Cordons that were in the area for most of the week have now been lifted.
South Wales Police say a post-mortem examination has been conducted and further examinations are ongoing to establish the cause of death.
Detective Inspector Bob Chambers, from South Wales Police, said: “Initial investigations have so far not revealed or confirmed any obvious cause of death; however, extensive inquiries are continuing to establish the cause and circumstances of Mr Bulpin’s death.
“I would like to thank members of the public who responded to our appeal for information by coming forward with information and sightings which have helped enormously.
“Police cordons have now been lifted and we thank the community for their support and understanding while inquiries were being conducted in this area.”
The force said Mr Bulpin’s family continue to be updated on the investigation.
