Youngsters earn roles in American TV mini-series
STAGE school youngsters from South West Wales are on set filming an American television mini-series.
Spanish Princess, based on the Philippa Gregory novels, is set to feature three students from the Mark Jermin Stage School.
Leah Rees, aged 10, Mia Wiles, aged 15, and Mia Willams-hughes, 7, are all set to leave their weekly stage school class behind to appear in the TV show.
All three students are on set to have an experience of a lifetime as they film with Charlotte Hope, an actress known for Allied (2016), Les Misérables (2012) and many more.
All three students were hand-selected for the prestigious series at their Swansea central stage school class, which runs every Thursday evening at St James’ Parish Church.
The class is run by Mark Jermin, a director and head agent at Mark Jermin Management, a Swanseabased actor’s agency.
Having been selected from hundreds of other hopefuls, all three students were lucky enough to be invited to a high-profile film shoot held in Somerset.
Mark Jermin said he has seen many of his students thrive within the industry on both stage and screen, and is always inspired when his younger students get to experience such wonderful opportunities through the stage school and agency.
He said. “It is always fantastic to see our clients securing jobs in both live theatre and recorded media like commercials, films and at events, but it is even more exciting to secure these three roles for our Swansea students.”
He continued: “Many of our stage school students are either working professionally through our agency or are performing in professional events which are produced by our sister company, Jermin Productions.”
“Through commercials, films, photoshoots and stage performances, we really try to offer our students a wide range of opportunities.
“We are really excited to see the final product on our TV screens and for the students to be recognised for their talents.”
The mini-series follows the tale of Catherine of Aragon, the beautiful teen princess of Spain who was promised the English throne as a child.
