Special shirt for Rotherham trip

-

SWANSEA City will wear a special edition shirt at Rotherham United this weekend in support of Responsible Gambling Week.

The Swans announced BET UK as their main shirt sponsor in the summer, with the gambling firm’s logo being displayed across the front of their three strips for the 2018/19 season.

But Graham Potter’s troops will show their support for Responsible Gambling Week - which runs from until Wednesday - at the New York Stadium tomorrow by wearing the RGW logo on their shirts.

The shirts will then be auctioned off, with proceeds set to go to the Gordon Moody Association, a unique treatment programme created to help addicted gamblers in the UK.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We, alongside Bet UK, are delighted to support Responsible Gambling Week by wearing a new logo on our shirts for Saturday’s Championship clash at Rotherham United.

“We take responsible gambling very seriously at Swansea City, and the message of Responsible Gambling Week is one we are very keen to share with our loyal supporters.”

Mark Good, representing Bet UK, explained: “As part of the Leovegas Mobile Gaming Group, we are committed to ensuring customers enjoy a safe and enjoyable online gaming experience.

“The 24/7 responsible gambling team at Bet UK are trained in collaboration with EPIC Risk Management, and support organisations such as the Gordon Moody Association.

“They are available to listen, support and advise customers.

“This training, along with the utilisation of the latest predictive analytics and data science tools and methodologies, enables our responsible gambling team to recognise potential indicators of problem gambling, and then proactively interact with customers to ensure that they are staying in control.”

A total of 407 bookmakers, arcades, casinos and bingo venues in Wales are taking part in Responsible Gambling Week.
