since. The point is that it is not in the interests of the global arms industry to sue for peace: because if global peace is ever achieved they’re out of business.
US President Eisenhower coined the phrase “the military-industrial complex” – implying that if you take the military component out of the global economy it will be in danger of collapse.
Isn’t it about time the wiser people in positions of power and influence around the world put their heads together to come up with a solution to this conundrum?
They need to – otherwise the global arms industry will continue to control events, and people will continue to suffer death, destruction and disease on a massive scale – comparable to any of the suffering that took place in the First World War.
