Food Shed has recipe for success

-

THE food shed has been set up to give people the choice of a well balanced, freshly cooked meal.

With more and more councils facing budget cuts, communities were finding councils were ending their meals on wheels services leaving very little choice for a freshly cooked meal, but more importantly less contact with the communities most isolated.

Roxane Dacey, cofounder and director of The Food Shed says “All of our meals are freshly cooked using fresh and local produce.

“We are more than just a delivery service.

“All our drivers are DBS checked, fully trained and genuinely care about the well-being of our clients. Our drivers always feedback any concerns giving family and friends peace of mind.

“Drivers will plate up meals, cut up the food and get a drink, making sure clients are settled before going onto their next delivery”

The Food Shed says there are meat, fish and vegetarian options on offer daily. They also deliver seven days a week and provide meals for 365 days of the year.

Michelle Noble, cofounder and director of The Food Shed added: “Our service is flexible with no minimum weekly orders.

“They can be accessed long or short term and even at short notice when people are just coming out of hospital, or when family members are on holiday.

They added: “It is all about keeping independence and dignity throughout.”

The Food Shed has received some glowing testimonials from customers.

Among the comments from satisfied customers are: “It’s just like my Mother used to cook”; and: “I’m visiting mums every Sunday now – it saves me cooking and the meals are gorgeous.

““It is great that they can cater for the whole family as well as the elderly.”
