Flights of fantasy

-

IGGETY, ziggety, zaggety, zoom! And off they go – because the witch and the cat from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic children’s picture book Room on the Broom are off on their adventures again, touring a host of theatres in the UK.

And they’ve invited fans of the favourite book to join them as they set off on their mission to defeat the dragon in Tall Stories’ magical and musical adaptation.

The action begins as the witch and her cat are travelling on their broomstick when they pick up some hitch-hikers – a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog.

But the broomstick isn’t meant for five and with so much weight on it, crack, it snaps…just as the hungry dragon appears!

There are songs, laughter and fun for children from three upwards (and their families of course) in the Olivier awardnominated show that’s toured, not just Britain, but the world.

The broomstick is being put into gear again from November 23 until May next year, so there will be plenty of time to hitch a ride and get on board.

For dates, tickets and more information, go to tallstories.org.uk

And, if you can’t wait until you see the show to enjoy Room on the Broom fun and games, go to the Tall Stories’ website for a sneak preview and click on the ‘Play + Create’ section to download Room on the Broom activities including pictures to colour, a maze to navigate and puppets to cut out and create your own adventures.
