Teen charged in number plates theft bid probe

A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with the attempted theft of number plates from a car sales garage.

Police - including a dog unit - were called to the Junction 44 Motor Company premises on Peniel Green Road in Birchgrove on Sunday night following reports of suspicious activity on the forecourt.

A 19-year-old man from Clydach was arrested at the scene, and has subsequently been charged with vehicle interference. He has been bailed to appear at Swansea Magistrates Court later this month.

A 28-year-old man who made off from officers but who was subsequently tracked down and arrested has been released with no further action being taken.
