Low-carb diet boost

SWITCHING to a low-carb diet could help people lose up to 10kg (1.57 stone) over the course of three years, a new study suggests.

Long-term benefits could be even greater, the researcher­s said, after analysing the number of calories burned in various diets.

The US authors of the paper, published in The BMJ, found that lowering the proportion of carbohydra­tes from diets led to the greatest number of calories burned.
