SWITCHING to a low-carb diet could help people lose up to 10kg (1.57 stone) over the course of three years, a new study suggests.
Long-term benefits could be even greater, the researchers said, after analysing the number of calories burned in various diets.
The US authors of the paper, published in The BMJ, found that lowering the proportion of carbohydrates from diets led to the greatest number of calories burned.
