MORE than 100 higher education students from Gower College Swansea attended a special graduation event at the Great Hall on Swansea University’s Bay Campus.

The students were celebrating achievement in subjects including accountancy, teaching, engineering, childcare, hair and beauty, sport, housing and management.

“The Welsh Government places great emphasis upon education and particularly further and higher education, in terms of the delivery of the skills needed to support a strong economy,” said principal Mark Jones.

“I’m delighted that Gower College Swansea, working with our higher education and other partners, is able to support this agenda and is continuing to develop our higher education provision through strong partnership working.”

Gower College Swansea delivers a range of higher education courses in partnership with the University of South Wales, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Wrexham Glyndwr University, Swansea University and the University of Gloucestershire.

Earlier this year, the college opened a bespoke Higher Education Centre at the Tycoch Campus.

Featuring six new classrooms, a library and common room area, the new development is for the exclusive use of students on higher level courses – such as foundation degrees and HNDS.
