Accident probe launched after mother-to-be is left injured
A PREGNANT woman has been hit by a car in Neath town centre.
The woman, who is said to be in the early stages of her pregnancy, was not seriously injured but was taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance after the incident.
It is understood that only one vehicle was involved in the incident, which happened on Orchard Street at 3.50pm on Tuesday, November 4.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said three people were assessed at the scene and taken to hospital.
They said: “It was a car versus pedestrian. The pedestrian involved was in the early stages of pregnancy.”
Officers from South Wales Police and three ambulances attended the scene.
The road was closed to allow investigations to be carried out.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “South Wales Police is investigating a single-vehicle collision in Orchard Street, Neath town centre, which was reported to police at about 3.50pm on Tuesday, December 4.
“The road has been closed while investigations are carried out.
“At this stage no serious injuries have been reported.”
