Country hit by more floods
WALES Torrential rain has caused flooding and disruption across Wales. Heavy rain overnight and early on Friday morning caused travel delays and saw several roads being flooded. There was serious flooding on one of the main routes into Cardiff at Capel Llanilltern. Natural Resources Wales had two flood warnings and 23 flood alerts in place on Friday. The warnings were on the River Ely at Llanelay and at the River Ritec in Tenby. A man also had to be rescued from his vehicle after it hit flood water in Pontyclun. An elderly woman raised the alarm after flood water entered her property at Llanwrtyd Wells. And the river Conwy burst its banks in the Llanrwst area after torrential downpours hammered the region in recent days. High water levels could also be seen around the A487 at Dyfi Bridge north of Machynlleth. There is also more rain on the way.
