Chance to give and make it a happy X-mas

-

THE Mr X Appeal is once again collecting presents for less fortunate local children as it marks its 59th year.

The appeal team say that once again the people of South Wales and the Midlands have shown their generosity, with gifts coming in thick and fast.

Volunteers are working hard to sort the presents into areas ready for the child care organiser to pick up and deliver to the children, even lorry loads of gifts are turning up.

“We are appealing to our supporters who have not come through to us yet this year to think about the teenagers who tend to get forgotten or left out because they are difficult to buy for,” said a spokeswoman. “We see their siblings are getting really nice presents and not much for them.”

“Last year we were able to supply gifts to more than 5,000 children, thanks to the kindhearted people of South and South West Wales, but we have more names arriving daily bringing us close to 5,000 children again, so we still need your help in filling their Christmas stockings for Santa to deliver,” the spokeswoman added.

All names come from child support agencies, who work in Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Rhonnda Cynon Taf, with some agencies dealing with children further afield in Wales.
