Sighting reported of man missing for more than 3 weeks
A MAN who has been missing for more than three weeks may have been sighted earlier this week.
Gary Shepherd-mason, who is 54, has not been seen since Thursday, November 15.
Police are now appealing for any dashcam or CCTV footage, and accounts from cyclists who may have seen Mr Shepherd-mason
Three days ago police, accompanied by the Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team, scoured a woodland outside the village of Trevaughan, near Carmarthen. A service drone and police sniffer dog were both also used in the search.
However, the missing man may have been seen on the Capel Dewi Road earlier this week.
Capel Dewi Road is just south of Carmarthen, reaching from Llangunnor to Capel Dewi, following the River Towy.
Mr Shepherd-mason lives in Russell Terrace, Carmarthen, and was last seen in the Barn Road area near the centre of the town.
He relies on medication which was found near his home, and concern for his welfare is increasing.
He is 6ft 1in, of skinny build, with brown hair which he wears in a ponytail. He has a tattoo of a bulldog on one arm and an SAS tattoo on the other.
He usually has stubble and has a gold stud in his right ear. He is possibly wearing a black bomber jacket, blue hooded top and blue jeans, and is likely to be wearing a hat.
Tuesday’s search is not the first one conducted by police officers since Mr Shepherd-mason went missing, and extensive monitoring of CCTV in Carmarthen has already taken place in an attempt to trace his whereabouts.
Superintendent Gary Mills, of Dyfed-powys Police, said: “We are appealing to the public to help us with our search for Gary Shepherd-mason, and are asking them to search their sheds and outbuildings in case he is taking cover somewhere.
“Since he was reported missing, medication belonging to Gary has been found near his home in Russell Terrace. He relies on this, and we are concerned for his welfare if he has been without it for several weeks.” ■ If you have seen Gary, or have any information to help police locate him, call them on 101. If you have CCTV or dashcam footage but are not sure how, or are unable to review it, police may be able to assist, call them on 101 to make arrangements.
Gary Sheperd-mason is still missing from Carmarthen.
