Return for relaxed panto show
FOLLOWING on from the success of last year’s inaugural relaxed pantomime performance, Swansea Grand Theatre is offering the experience again for this year’s panto, Cinderella.
The relaxed performance on Wednesday, January 9, at 7pm offers an opportunity for visitors with autistic spectrum disorders, or learning or sensory needs, to enjoy top quality theatre in a friendly, relaxed and informal environment.
These performances are also ideal for a young child’s first visit to a pantomime.
Cinderella will still be packed full of the seasonal magic that audiences have come to expect of Swansea Grand Theatre’s pantomimes, but there will be adjustments. The relaxed performance will remove the traditional ‘rules’ of theatre going; visitors will be free to make noise or move around and will also benefit from: ■ Extra information prior to their visit ■ More time to find their seats and settle in ■ An introduction to the cast prior to the show ■ Adapted lighting, sound levels and softened audience interaction ■ A reduced ticket price of £10 (usually £14 – £27.50) ■ Touch tours by prior arrangement ■ A dedicated chill out area where they can relax if they need to take a break from the show
To help parents and carers relax prior to the performance the theatre also offess a no-questionsasked refund policy right up until the moment the show starts as things don’t always go according to plan on the day.
A spokesman for the Grand said: “We want to make it easy for you to book the best seats in advance without having to worry about changes further down the line.”
Tickets are not available online. To book, please contact our box office on 01792 475715 or email swansea.grandreserva[email protected]
Swansea Grand Theatre also has an audio described performance of Cinderella on January 3 at 2pm and two British Sign Language interpreted performances on January 8 at 7pm and 2pm the next day.
