Meeting to get update on GP service in upper valley

-

A PUBLIC meeting to update residents on GP services in Port Talbot’s upper Afan Valley will be held this week.

For the past two years, a single team has provided primary care to the people of Cwmavon and Cymmer, where there has been long-standing problems recruiting and retaining GPS. During this time, various changes have taken place to ensure people continue to receive a safe and high quality service.

A public meeting will take place in Croeserw Community Centre on Wednesday, at 6pm.

AM David Rees will chair the meeting, with senior figures from ABMU attending to make a presentation and answer questions. The health board says it has taken a series of actions to support the GP workload and allow doctors to be used more effectively and efficiently.
