A GANG of four left a family terrified after forcing entry and demanding cash and jewellery during a burglary at their home in Landore, Swansea. ■

A GANG of four left a family terrified after forcing entry and demanding cash and jewellery at a home in Swansea.

Police are investigat­ing the burglary which happened in Siloh Road, Landore, on Thursday evening. The address was targeted by a gang of four men who knocked at a side door before forcing their way in to the property and demanding the occupants hand over cash and jewellery.

They then made off from the scene in an asyet-unidentifi­ed vehicle.

Police are appealing for homeowners to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious or concerning activity.

Detective inspector Dave Peart, of South Wales Police, said: “This was a frightenin­g ordeal for the family concerned and my team is working to identify and arrest those responsibl­e as a matter of urgency.

“In the meantime I would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area between approximat­ely 6pm and 8pm, or anyone who has any informatio­n which could assist the investigat­ion, to get in touch.

“I would also urge the public to remain vigilant, keeping properties secure and taking extra precaution­s, such as installing security lights and CCTV cameras, where possible. Valuables should also be kept out of sight.

“I’d also ask that people look out for their neighbours, taking note of suspicious activity in or around neighbouri­ng properties, and unfamiliar vehicles. If something doesn’t seem right – please report it.”
