How about a swap deal?

- MICHELLE PARFITT via email KL ANDERSON Dunvant, Swansea ANDREW WILSONMOUASHER

READ with surprise in the Evening Post (May 21) that the skate park proposed for Mumbles requires a comprehensive appraisal of potential alternative sites.

Meanwhile in Llansamlet, as landlord of the site where Biffa has proposed to incinerate around 21,000 tonnes of rubbish per year, the council required no such appraisal of alternative sites despite such an operation generating more than 10,000 tonnes of co2 plus an array of other nasty pollutants on the doorstep of residential areas, Swansea Vale Nature Reserve and Lon Las Primary School.

It’s hardly best value for public services given the demands that will be placed on health services as a result of the air pollution generated. Maybe Mumbles would like to swap? to have a “One side of a street in Blogshire one not” situation. That is OK, it’s England, but if the Assembly do it, for perfectly good reasons, they have failed to think.

What is the difference? ety is high, and we are unable to come together to support each other, attend funerals or even simply say goodbye.
