Q AI’ve found out I have fibroids but am not really sure what they are. Can you help? Fibroids are actually quite common, with around a third of women developing them at some point. There are different types of fibroids, the most common being intramural fibroids that develop in the muscle wall of the womb.

There is a slight chance they may affect pregnancy or cause fertility problems depending on their position and size, but in the majority of cases they shrink and disappear on their own without requiring treatment.

If you experience symptoms such as heavy or painful periods, stomach pain, back ache or pain during sex, see your GP or book an online consultation and you might be prescribed specific medication to help shrink the fibroids.

If you haven’t experienced any symptoms there is little reason to worry, but do speak to your GP if you have any concerns.

Q What is the best way to treat and prevent blisters?

A Blisters appear on the skin after an area of the body has been damaged and aim to cushion the area to prevent further damage. The best treatment is to leave it alone to heal, which should take around a week. Don’t burst the blister as it will open the area up to further injury, slow down the healing process and may cause an infection.

If the blister bursts by accident, leave the empty pocket of skin and cover with a sterile plaster until it heals. Prevention-wise, make sure you’re wearing the right footwear. They should fit correctly, be comfortable and be suitable for the activity you are doing.

IF you can’t decide between coast or country or period and contemporary for your next property move and have a budget of at least £750,000, there are a number of dream homes on the market in Wales you could consider.

But maybe one that should be near the top of your list is this breathtaking whitewashed contemporary four-storey home in Blackpill, Swansea.

The mesmerising and modern facade would not look out of place in Beverly Hills.

Inside and out the distinctive home offers highend

design and style that oozes contemporary, shiny and glossy.

But if a small part of you is still hankering after a period property, even after being entranced by

this luxury home, then the location can deliver on that too. This house has been built as part of an exclusive gated community within the grounds of historic Clyne Castle adjacent to Clyne Gardens.

The original Grade Iilisted castle is actually a mansion built in 1791 and then externally remodelled during 1819-20 to add battlements and tur

rets within its new facade’s Gothic style.

The castle mansion itself was converted into apartments in 2003, and more recently the grounds were developed into this exclusive and private estate of 14 new and distinctive white houses.

Access to the estate is via a restricted private

road that leads to the gated entrance.

Within the three rows of stunning homes that gently curve around the stone Gothic castle you will find this property currently for sale, one of only six of this unique design.

Four storeys of fabulousness at this posh pad include incredible panoramic sea views from its sunny roof terrace.

As you ascend inside the house the views of the coast, countryside and castle in front of you continue to grow until that panoramic place at the top of the property.

The estate agent selling the property says Clyne Castle’s private outdoor estate is at the residents’ disposal, with pathways through the grounds that meander through about 1.5 acres of gardens between Clyne Gardens and Clyne Country Park.

The entrance at the front gives way to the main living spaces at the rear, ensuring a constant connection to those views from as many vantage points as possible.

The hall has a curved wall that leads into the first of a number of ‘wow’ spaces. This ground-floor room spans the whole width of the house and feels even bigger thanks to the wall of massive windows.

The double height of glass continues up into the next floor via an internal

balcony, meaning both the ground-floor kitchen diner and first-floor lounge above benefit from the light flooding in.

The internal balcony is just one of many clever features that set this property apart from other contemporary homes.

One of the other delightful bonus features is the ground-floor sun terrace which is accessed off this open-plan kitchen and family room via a patio door. As the house is built on a gentle slope this terrace, although on the ground floor, has an elevated position to look out over the castle grounds.

The kitchen is a highspec space with integrated NEFF appliances surrounded by white gloss units and topped with luxurious granite worktops.

The ground floor also offers a utility room, cloakroom and large storage cupboard in the hall.

Up to the first floor via the stairs that are housed in the unusual tower-like structure, and a stunning lounge space awaits, stretching from the front of the house to the back.

This vast space welcomes waves of light from the internal balcony and that double-height mosaic of widows shared by the kitchen family room below, plus there are more large windows at the front of the house and within the adjoining study area.

This versatile living space can easily accommodate another large dining space as well as a whole host of squishy sofas and comfortable armchairs, and there is ample space in the joined extra reception space for more seating, a study, office, playroom, music room or, well, anything the new owner wants.

This bonus room has fantastic sea views via a Juliet balcony.

There’s an extra cloakroom on this floor, and then up to the next floor which is dedicated to sleeping and looking out of the huge windows.

There are four double bedrooms, including a master with magnificent views, and a family bathroom.

The master bedroom has built-in wardrobes and a spacious four-piece en suite that includes a double sink vanity unit.

The clever design continues even on the roof with a surprise extra room that comes with a sink and plumbing.

The only way anyone is going to leave that lovely roof terrace is if it rains, it’s time for bed or work.

The sand and seafront at Blackpill are within easy walking distance, with Mumbles a short stroll further along the prom.

The house is on the market for offers in excess of £750,000 with Fine & Country Swansea. Call 01792 367301 for more.
