New restaurant as park continues its recent revival

SWANSEA’S Parc Tawe Retail Park is about to get a brand new restaurant with the opening of Double Zero.

Signage has been erected at one of the retail park’s long-time empty units opposite Plantasia for the restaurant, along with the words ‘Coming soon’.

It promises to serve up coffee, ice cream, milkshakes, paninis and much more.

The name of the new restaurant will be familiar to many in other parts of Wales, including Porthcawl Harbour, with a focus on pizza in that particular restaurant.

According to its website, Double Zero serves up a selection of coffees, teas and iced drinks, along with cakes, sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soup.

It will join other eateries already open at the retail park including Denny’s, India India and Treatz, and will be a welcome sight to many who have become accustomed to walking past and seeing the unit empty for many years.

There is real sign of life at the south side of the retail park in recent times, including the sight of the huge former base of Toys R Us being transformed into the new home of Aldi.

A brand new Kutchenhaus, a kitchen showroom, is also set to open its doors in June, next door to the former Toys R Us, and we’re also set to see the arrival of a new Burger King drive-thru at the popular destination.

The south of the retail park was taken over by Centurion Tawe Ltd in the first half of last year after being sold by previous owners Hammerson, just four years after it carried out a massive £15m redevelopment of the shopping and leisure destination.
