Police appeal after pedestrian dies following two-car collision

A PEDESTRIAN involved in a serious crash between two vehicles in Carmarthen­shire has died from his injuries in hospital.

The man was injured in a collision which took place on the B4317 near Ffos Las, around seven miles west of Llanelli, on Sunday morning.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition following the incident, which involved a black Mercedes SLK and a grey Honda Jazz, and a section of the road was closed for several hours on Sunday as emergency services attended the scene.

Dyfed-powys Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the pedestrian has died of his injuries.

A spokeswoma­n for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision that occurred at approximat­ely 10.50am on Sunday, January 23, on the B4317 near to Ffos Las heading towards Trimsaran.

“The collision involved two vehicles and a pedestrian. Sadly the pedestrian has passed away in hospital. Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone living in the area with CCTV or ‘Ring’ doorbells is asked to contact the investigat­ion team with any informatio­n,” she said.
