Round up of recent planning requests

-

HERE is a round up of some of the stand-out planning applications that have been submitted to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (NPTCBC) over the past couple of weeks.

■Neath

A change of use planning application has been made to NPTCBC for an office building in Neath to become the new branch of a local estate agent.

Award-winning estate agent Peter Morgan is hoping to move into the building where Ropewalk meets Davies Road. The company already has branches in Neath, Maesteg, Port Talbot and Bridgend.

The proposal includes plans to renew the shop front, improve access to the building and add external wall insulation.

■Pontardawe

A greengrocers in Pontardawe is looking to add a cafe to its premises.

Frosty’s Greengrocers on Herbert Street in Pontardawe has submitted a change of use planning application to NPTCBC to include a cafe that would work on overlapping times with the shop.

A planning statement attached to the application says that both the shop and cafe would work together during daytime opening hours, with the shop space taking the left rear section of the property to stack produce for sale.

When the shop closes, its shelving system would be used as a tabled and stooled area to increase the capacity of the cafe.

■Baglan

Temporary planning permission for two portable buildings at a business park in Baglan near Briton Ferry could be extended.

A planning application has been made to NPTCBC for an extension to the planning permission for two temporary portable buildings at Ecolab at Baglan Energy Park for a period of 260 weeks.

Planning permission was originally granted for the portable buildings to remain at the site for 260 weeks. If approved, the new planning permission would take effect from the expiry date of the original one granted in 2017.

Ecolab specialises in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions.

■Skewen

An application has been lodged for the installation of two electric vehicle charging stations at a wellknown fast food chain.

Plans have been revealed for two new rapid electric vehicle charging stations and associated equipment at the Skewen Service Station Mcdonald’s. If approved, the new charging stations will be located within the car park of Mcdonald’s.
