Harri steals show in Keys win

-

WALES U18 centre Harri Ackerman made a big impression on his debut for Cross Keys as he scored two tries in their 50-7 win over Bedwas in the Admiral Championship.

The Dragons Academy youngster crossed in each half as the home side scored eight tries.

One of the tries came from a driving maul from a line-out that was 20 metres from the Bedwas try line. Victory moved Keys up to fourth in the table.

Still top of the pile are Neath, who notched up their seventh win in eight games to remain two points clear of Pontypool, who have a game in hand.

They put the students of Cardiff Met to the sword in a 58-17 triumph.

Lewis Evans helped himself to a hat-trick in Neath’s nine-try win and there were two for Sion Crocker. Ben Atkins, Jon Bayliss, Jay Weaver and Ryan Griffiths got the others. Steff Williams kicked five conversions and a penalty.

Pontypool made it seven wins out of seven as they claimed a 39-27 victory over Bargoed.

Pooler were 20 points behind at one stage as Bargoed’s Steffan Jones kicked two penalties and converted tries by Tom Rice and Dylan Williams.

Pooler responded with converted tries from Pat Lewis and Deon Smith and Matthew Jarvis kicked a penalty to make it 20-17.

Jarvis levelled matters with another penalty in the second half, before Keaton Davies grabbed a third try for Bargoed that Jones converted to restore their lead.

A penalty try to Pooler levelled things up again before the home side hit the front with a second try from Smith that Jarvis converted.

Dylan Kelleher-griffiths put the icing on the cake with the bonus-point try.
