BEN CABANGO has called on Swansea City to end the season with a flourish against Millwall on Saturday.

Swansea wrap up their campaign with a date with the Lions in SA1, hoping to add to their four-match unbeaten run.

Their latest game – a 2-2 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road – showed where head coach Luke Williams wants to take this side.

Cabango believes the showing against the Canaries points to a bright future next term.

“We go into the final game with one thing on our mind, to put on another good performance and come away with the three points,” said the central defender.

“This little run has been really positive for us.

We have shown we are motivated to play well and put a performance on for ourselves and for the fans.

“We have played a Norwich team who are going for the play-offs, and to go there and play the way we did offers encouragement ahead of next season.

“They are a very good team, we have been in good form ourselves and we wanted to go toe-to-toe with them.

“I think we did that, in the second half we had chances where we could have won the game, so there is plenty to take from how we played.

“They scored two goals of a real high quality, but we threw our bodies on the line, we dug in and made the blocks when we had to and got that point.”

Meanwhile, skipper Matt Grimes has hailed Swansea’s supporters after their visit to Norwich.

A total of 527 fans made the journey to Carrow Road at the weekend to see their side pick up a point.

It hasn’t been an easy season for supporters, with results and performances fluctuating, but an end-ofcampaign pick-up has seen confidence return to the ranks.

Grimes, who made his 300th appearance on Saturday, said fans deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.

“They’re unbelievable,” he said. “It’s got to be one of the highest amount of miles travelled by any team in the EFL. They’re incredible, and I honestly can’t thank them enough.

“We know how much effort goes into it and how well they’ve supported us away from home.

“We want to make a statement to the fans next week about what they can expect from us every game next year.

“That has to be the plan, and we’ll look to do that.

“I hope we’ve done enough in the last couple of games to get supporters excited and see what we’re trying to build.

“We want to show that again next week, finish really strong and take it into next year.

“Everyone keeps throwing it at us that we’ve got nothing to play for, but we do.

“We’re preparing for next year, we want to finish the season as strongly as possible.

“This run is almost like a dress rehearsal for next year. We want to play the way we do at home, away, no matter where we are, no matter the situation we’re in.

“We want to keep building, layering up our performances as we go along and I think everyone can see the strides we’re making and the progress.

“So we need to keep going, keep ticking them off and finish this season strong and take it into next season.”
