Enjoy the warm weather this weekend... change is on the way

-

THE weather is set to continue to warm up over the next few days, with bright and sunny conditions for many and highs of 26°C in some areas. The Met Office says high pressure is set to dominate, with temperatures reaching up to 26°C in the south tomorrow.

Although the majority of the UK will enjoy this fine weather, showers and more unsettled conditions are likely in the far north and northwest.

But temperatures in Wales are set to be above normal for the time of year.

BBC Breakfast presenter Matt Taylor said temperatures will be rising and there will be a dry spell for all into the weekend.

“The rest of the next few days will be dry and warm,” he said in his forecast yesterday. “The mornings will be a little bit misty.

“Temperatures are set to peak this weekend before falling away next week again. It will quite widely be between 22°C and 25°C over the weekend which will be well above average which is normally between 12°C and 16°C at this time of year.”

He added: “We are looking at four to eight or nine Celsius above normal for this time of year. It is all because we have got high pressure in charge.”

The Met Office warns that with the strong sunshine there will be an increase in UV levels saying: “Over the next few days, they are expected to reach moderate to high across the UK. It is important that, if you are in an area that is particularly sunny over the next few days, you take steps to ensure that you and your family are protected from these increased UV levels.”

Weather conditions are expected to return to a more unsettled pattern next week. Rain and showers will start to move in from the west, due to a developing low from the Atlantic.
