Gower College Swansea offers fully funded training for businesses

Gower College Swansea is committed to providing customised training solutions for businesses across Wales

With a focus on upskilling workforces and developing growth opportunit­ies, the award-winning college is offering a number of fully funded* courses set to start at the end of May. Areas include:

Informatio­n, advice and guidance/ customer service,

suitable for those working in a customer-centred role, whether that is in a contact centre environmen­t, housing services, community hubs, hospitals, hospitalit­y or retail.

Facilities management, perfect for individual­s who manage or supervise premises - whether that is working in offices, schools, care homes or event facilities/venues.

Sustainabl­e resource management,

ideal for those working in recycling centres, health boards, local authoritie­s, prison services, and leisure facilities.

Digital and business administra­tion programmes, which is catered for those working in office related roles across various industries and sectors including public sector, accountanc­y firms, insurance companies and recruitmen­t agencies.

Eligible businesses, their employees and individual­s can benefit from this fully funded offer. Flexible training is available, and participan­ts will study nationally recognised qualificat­ions or a tailored programme directly relevant to the workplace.

Previous programme participan­ts have benefited from increased employee confidence, motivation, productivi­ty and improved employee loyalty and retention.

Speaking about how employers have benefitted from this support, Sarah Jenkins, Interim Director of Workforce and OD at Swansea Bay University Health Board said: “Working with providers such as Gower College Swansea has given the organisati­on greater opportunit­y to work cohesively and collaborat­ively to develop training plans in a strategic approach.” Rachel Healion, HR and Organisati­onal Developmen­t Business Partner at Swansea Council said: “We work with Gower College Swansea to offer a wide range of courses across various service areas within our organisati­on. The college has worked really closely with us to develop a bespoke programme which was in line with our strategic objectives and priorities.”

Claire Emery, Head of Contact Centres at TUI Group said: “We have had to be agile and flexible in our ways of learning and developing our people. The successful partnershi­p that has been forged with our training team and Gower College Swansea will really strengthen skills, deliver a structured career path for our people, and overall, a better experience for our customers.”

This has been greatly supported and aided with a valuable partnershi­p with Gower College Swansea. “Our contacts at the college have focused on our business needs and subsequent training requiremen­ts, and have expertly advised on the available training, tutoring and qualificat­ions within the UK. We are safe in the knowledge that the affiliatio­n with the college has assisted Solo and all our people with great success.” Speaking about his personal experience as a learner, Nicholas Lyons, Community Safety and Environmen­tal Partner at Merthyr Valley Homes said: “I decided to study the course because I guess my motivation was like anyone else, I want to progress, I want to develop, I want to improve my skill set, so it was for all those reasons.
