ANUMBER of local businesses have signed up to take part in this year’s Southport Fashion Show.

Shop owners from across the area have joined forces with the organisers to bring a whole host of hair and beauty products, dresses and spa treatments.

The show, which is in its third year, will be held at Southport Theatre and Convention Centre on Sunday, March 29.

Local firms including Coco Boutique, Muse, Hotfrox and Senses Spa have all announced their plans for the event.

Couture dress store Hotfrox, based on Duke Street in Southport, has been involved with the show since the beginning and is bringing a selection of dresses to showcase - one of which recently appeared on TV at the National Television Awards.

Owner Wendy Freeman said: “We were asked to take part for the first show because the organisers knew how special our dresses are.

“The show is a great chance for us to showcase our garments. We mainly showcase our selection of couture dresses. We have a big variety, and people often buy them for big events like cruises, wedding guest outfits and proms.

“Our frocks have made it onto the TV a number of times recently, they’ve appeared on the Royal Variety Show, Sports Personality of the Year, the TV Choice awards and Cheshire Housewives.”

Exhibiting for the first time is Senses Spa, which joined after a flurry of customers recommended them.

Bev Harrison is a holistic therapist at the business.

She said: “We wanted to get involved after our customers told us all about it. Last year, all of our customers said it was fabulous. They loved everything about it and said that we had to get there for next year.

“We’ll be showcasing a number of treatments. The one we’re really excited about is to demonstrate our Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion treatment – it’s rumoured to be used by Kate Middleton – and our customers love it.

“Our new Milk Peel is also going to be demonstrated which will be a first in the whole of the North West.”

Another first timer to the show is Natalie Puente Olasoaga, who is a Juenesse beauty products distributor.

She said: “I’ve been to the show before as a visitor and since then I’ve become a distributor for American beauty products.

“At the show I’ll be selling ‘instantly ageless’ which is a new treatment from the States. It’s not yet available in the UK but it’s been described as ‘botox in a bottle’ and is getting brilliant reviews online.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the show after being a visitor previously. With the bigger space this year, I can’t wait for it.”

Organiser Lisa Hames said: “This show is all about Southport. There are a lot of fantastic clothes shops in the local area, not just on Lord Street but on the surrounding streets, and in places like Ormskirk and Formby.”
