COMMUNITY Link Foundation has received a £5,000 grant from the Santander Foundation to fund a number of projects in our local area and some funding costs for the charity.

The grant was provided from the Foundation’s Community Plus initiative which provides grants of up to £5,000 for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.

The donation will allow Community Link Foundation to continue it’s excellent work in the local area helping organisations such as Southport Foodbank and Autism initiatives, as well as individual grants for specialist equipment that will help younger persons improve their quality of life.

David Barron, Chairman of Community Link Foundation explained: “We have been in existence for a little over a year and have tremendous support from our local sponsors, however grants like this from the Santander Foundation allow us to take our support for local people even further and we are exceptionally grateful to those who have worked and assisted us in achieving this grant.”

Stephen Oates at Santander’s Southport branch said: “Community Plus allows our staff and customers to nominate local charities that are most in need of assistance. We are delighted to be supporting the Community Link Foundation and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”

The Community Plus fund provides grants of up to £5,000 to small, local charities with funding available to cover salaries, equipment or materials.
