Newlyweds to skydrive for charity
ASOUTHPORT couple are planning to spend their first wedding anniversary completing a 15,000ft skydive to raise money for charity.
Pauline and Will Wallace, both 30, will take on the daredevil challenge for Sue Ryder, which provides hospice and neurological care.
Pauline has managed the charity’s shop on Lord Street for the past 18 months.
She previously worked as an optician but was inspired to become involved after Will’s grandparents received care from the charity.
She said: “Just over two years ago, Will’s grandparents both had strokes and received hospice care.
“The charity as a whole do fantastic care. We treat more conditions than any other charities.
“Although we’ve been personally affected we’ve also met lots of people who’ve been helped by the charity. It really touches a lot of people.”
The skydive will take place on Saturday, June 11 and will be the first time either Pauline or electrician Will have done anything like it.
“I’m quite excited about it, but Will is a little apprehensive to say the least!”, Pauline said.
“I might have to make him go first and give him a little push!”
One in four of people are affected by conditions such as cancer, heart failure, dementia, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease and motor neurone disease.
Sue Ryder provides care and campaigns to improve the lives of those affected.
