Bid to keep killer Quy behind bars – 6,000 sign petition

-

MORE than 6,000 people have signed a petition calling for Southport murderer Mitchell Quy to be kept behind bars.

The campaign was launched last Tuesday by Robin Wilson, whose mum, Lynsey, was strangled to death by Quy in 1998.

Mitchell Quy hid his wife’s body in the loft of their home in Birkdale before he and his brother cut her into pieces and buried parts of Lynsey in locations around Southport.

He then callously spent months pretending he was searching for the 21-year-old victim as police searched frantically for the evidence to convict him.

Lynsey’s family have now received the distressing news that her killer could soon be free, as he faces a parole hearing next spring.

Robin Wilson is now urging as many people as possible to sign her petition to keep Mitchell Quy in prison.

In her post on the Change.org site she said: “The family got hit with devastating news last week being told Quy was up for parole.

“After having a meeting with a parole officer we got told one of three things will happen:

1. He will be moved into a category B prison

2. He will get moved into an open prison 3. Will get full release! “Please help us! Mitchell Quy, was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his wife Lynsey at their home in Southport, Merseyside. Lynsey, who had two children, was missing for 18 months before police discovered her torso near a rollercoaster in Southport.

Her arms and legs were found a day later dumped in bushes next to a railway line but her head and hands were never located.

“Please help us. This petition will help keep him behind bars!!”
