THE popular Fairy Festival and Victorian Gala is set to return to the Botanic Gardens in Churchtown next month.

Organised by the Botanic Gardens Community Association and photographer Diana Celine, the event will see hundreds of fairies descend on the gardens on Sunday, September 4.

Event organisers are currently on the hunt for any musicians or acts that would like to promote themselves at the free event.

Last year there was face painting, fairy crafts, music, dancing, a bouncy castle and fairytale portraits at the festival.

Hundreds of children dressed up as their favourite fairies, transforming the gardens into a wonderland, while Botanic Gardens volunteers dressed up in Victorian attire.

Organiser Diana Pedder from Diana Celine Photography on Wesley Street said: “We are pleased to be working with the Botanic Gardens and bringing the fairies again to the gala.

‘‘It was lovely to see so many happy little pixies and fairies enjoying themselves in the beautiful setting which is just perfect for the event.

“Last year the event was very busy and hundreds of families enjoyed stalls, ferret racing, face paint- ing, crafts, entertainment and more.’’

Diana added: “This year there will be even more to see and do.

“There are still a couple of places left for entertainers/ magicians/ perform- ers so if you fancy showcasing what you can do to the perfect audience then email fairies@dianaceline.co.uk or follow the event on our Facebook page. Just search The Fairytale Experience.”
