Feel the warmth of ‘chilled’ Phil as LOL Comedy Club returns

-

LOL Comedy Club returns to The Atkinson with Paul Myrehaug, Alistair Williams and Chris Cairns on Saturday, June 3.

Paul Myrehaug was born in Camrose in Alberta, Canada; a place so cold school wouldn’t be cancelled until the temperature dropped below -45 degrees.

As a young man Paul wanted to be a professional hockey player, professional golfer, professional basketball player or a professional snowboarder.

Then he found out how much you had to exercise and diet, and decided he would better off as a professional stand-up comic.

He is now an internationally-toured comedian with appearances on TV, radio, festivals and worldrenowned comedy competitions.

Alistair Williams describes his comedy style as ‘‘the ramblings of a moron’’.

He must be doing something right though, as he is highly regarded as one of the most exciting acts on the UK comedy circuit.

He is rising through the ranks at a rate of knots, excelling in any situation he is put in.

Alistair is already on his way to the top after winning the Piccadilly Comedy Club’s New Comedian of the Year 2014 award.

Alistair is one of those rare commodities in the comedy world, with his consistent ability to produce new material of the highest standard.

Combining high energy with a super charismatic stage presence, his set is packed with rip-roaring gags from start to finish.

Chris Cairns has bags of charm and natural enthusiasm which makes him irresistible to audiences.

He has gained a reputa- tion for being able to handle the toughest of rooms with his sharp putdowns and a fine eye for a cutting remark.

This, along with his spontaneity and improvisational skills, have created a demand for him not only as a compere but also as a strong and experienced headline act.

He is a multi award-winning comedian, having won The Eric Morecambe Comedian of the Year in 2002 and he was The Liverpool Comedian of the Year winner in 2003.

Your MC is Damion Larkin, one of Britain’s most promising comedy talents, renowned for being a spontaneous and lovable host.

All line-ups are subject to change, but the organisers promise to only replace them with someone twice as funny.
