All right, who said ‘break a leg’ for luck!

-

ATHEATRE group suffered a major setback when a principal cast member tore a tendon in rehearsal days before opening night.

Tom Hornby was playing Col Pickering, for Southport Spotlights Musical Theatre Society’s production of My Fair Lady, and ended up with a leg in a plaster cast.

With only days to go before opening night, the group had to send out calls to replace Tom.

Luckily, Steve Pritchard, who can usually be found treading the boards for Southport Dramatic Club, stepped in, and had his first rehearsal on Sunday.

Spotlights members said they were eternally grateful to him.

Meanwhile some of the women of the cast visited one of the sponsors of the show – Felicity Hat Hire in Churchtown - to try out some of the Ascotstyle hats that will be featured in one of the musical’s scenes.

Helen Hl Woods, W d owner of fF Felicli ity Couture, helped them decide on which style would suit 1912, the year in which the musical is set.

My Fair Lady will be running at the Little Theatre, February 7-10.
