Kew homes project wins top award
THE housing project in Kew aiming to provide almost 700 homes has been recognised at the North West Property Awards.
The development, by Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West, won the Best Large New Home Development, seeing off tough competition from Blackburn and the Wirral.
The award is for the North West’s best large new home development in terms of design, specification and craftsmanship.
The project is to provide 669 homes, for first-time and second-time buyers.
More than 50 families have already moved in during the first three phases, known as Pavilion Gardens I & II and Victoria Mews.
Those phases include two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Kim O’Brien, director of the NWPAs, said: “The Kew development has an ambitious masterplan of nearly 700 homes in total, which will provide much needed housing and regeneration to the local area.
“The judges were impressed with the phases completed to date and commented on its striking design and accessibility for both first-time and second-time buyers.”
The annual event, sponsored by Stewart Milne Homes, took place on 11 October and celebrated a year of success for the industry.
Nearly 300 guests attended the awards ceremony held at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral’s Lutyens Crypt.
Thirteen awards were presented on the night, from Show Home of the Year, Best Property Law Firm, Best Student Landlord to the Regeneration Award.
The NWPAs judges included Alastair Shepherd, director of Falconer Chester Hall; Lesley Martin-Wright, CEO of Knowsley Chamber and head of business growth for Knowsley Council; and Elaine Cunningham, the owner of Elaine Cunningham Design Studio.
