Marianne on song for ladies luncheon

MARIANNE Welsh was recently the guest speaker at the Southport Masonic Group Ladies Luncheon Club, where she gave a talk about her time as a West End actress.

Marianne, who has appeared in no fewer than 12 West End musicals, as well as having appeared in TV shows, film, cabaret and been in many radio shows, spoke about her time as a leading lady working opposite many well known stars.

Her list of leading men includes Michael Crawford, Paul Nicholas, Russ Abbott and A list film star Richard Gere.

The ladies gave Marianne a huge round of applause afterwards and hope to have her back for another talk.

As well as being in high demand as a public speaker, Marianne is also a councillor in Southport, and often performs as a jazz singer and just recently was the guest artist at the prestigiou­s St James Court Hotel in London, accompanie­d on the piano by legendary jazz pianist Ed Bentley and by the UK’s top jazz double bass player, Peter Morgan.
