Race night and car boot sale raise hundreds for centre
HESKETH Bank Community Centre would like to thank everyone who took part in its October fundraising events.
The centre held an artisan market and car boot sale on October 14 and annual fun Race Night on October 20.
Steve Kirby, chairman of the community centre, said: “The centre is raising funds for an ambitious plan to redevelop the site. made So far our events and activities have raised over £4,000, but we still have a very long way to go.”
He added: “It was the first time we have done the artisan market and car boot sale and it was very well received, with people coming from Skelmersdale and Burscough to buy and sell cards, knitting, quilting, bird tables, plants and flowers.
“We have already been asked to run another and so hope to get some more dates in the diary soon.”
Local businesses that sponsored the Race Night were: H Edmondson car sales, Newland & Wilkinson funeral directors, Johnson’s butchers, David Burns jewellers, Top Shop newsagents and The NAAZ Indian restaurant.
